Overview

The Gannet Colony at Muriwai Beach is located less than an hour northwest of Auckland on the west coast in the Muriwai Regional Park. It is a good place to get close-up views of the Australasian Gannets in the breeding season, from September to February.

Breeding place for 1,200 pairs of Australasian Gannets. Also breeding there are: White-fronted Tern, Red-billed Gull
