- Conspicuous white streaking on a black collar (lacking in interpositus)
- Rufous patches behind the eye (grey in interpositus)
Distribution
South America: found in Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Brazil.

Diet
Diet includes invertebrates.
Vocalisation
It has a magnificent, haunting song.
