Distribution
Central America: found in the humid montane forests of Costa Rica and western Panama.

This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Mountains, ravines and pastures.
Behaviour
Diet
The diet includes insects. The nest is placed on the ground; it has a roof and side entrance and is formed from bark, plant fibres, leaves, and grass. The 2-3 white or cream, brown spotted eggs are incubated for about two weeks.
