Identification
Similar Species
This species differs from the nearest populations of Gray-breasted Sabrewing in showing smaller size and longer light tips to tail feathers as well as living at lower elevation. It differs from other members of the Gray-breasted Sabrewing in having the basal half of outer tail feathers bright bronze green, instead of bright bluish black.
Distribution
Eastern Brazil (southeastern Goiás, southwestern Bahia, and northern Minas Gerais)
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
This species was recently split from Gray-breasted Sabrewing.
Habitat
Forest on dry rocky outcroppings (frequently limestone) below 1000 m asl.
