- C. p. poliogenys: Himalayas (central Nepal to northeast India, Bhutan and western Myanmar)
- C. p. cachariensis: eastern Himalayas (Assam) to northwest Myanmar and southern China(northwest Yunnan)
- C. p. laurentei: southwest China (southeast Yunnan)
- C. p. vernayi: eastern India (Eastern Ghats from northern Orissa to Andhra Pradesh)
