Identification

Distribution

Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, and Venezuela.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species which was in the past included in the genus Platycichla.

Habitat

Moist montanes.

Behaviour

These birds build cup-shaped nests made of moss. They lay green eggs with brown blotches. Generally, the females incubate the nest. The males help feed the nestlings.
