Distribution

Serrana de Perija of Venezuela and Colombia.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species.
Described in 2015. Specimens have been available since 1941 but due to lack of genetic data and lack of records of vocalizations the taxonomic position was unclear.

Habitat

Cloud forest at mid-elevation.
