Identification
Bill is all black and ever so slightly downcurved. Underside with faint white stripes on a darker background; throat contrasting white.
Distribution
Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, and Peru.
Taxonomy
Three subspecies recognized: ruficaudus, montanus, and famatinae.[1]
Habitat
High-altitude shrubland.
Behaviour
Tends to walk with the tail pointing straight up.
