Identification
Distribution
Endemic to the Sulu Archipelago (Bongao, Jolo, Tawi Tawi, Sanga Sanga and Sibutu) in the southern Philippines.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species.
It was formerly included in Philippine Pygmy Woodpecker.
Habitat
Forests and mixed cultivation.
Behaviour
This small woodpecker is found creeping up the sides of trees.
