- Deep purple-blue head, back, tail and lesser wing coverts
- Orange-rufous lower parts
- Black throat, wings, face, legs, bill and iris

- Olive-brown
- Buff throat
- Greyish-brown crown and nape
Distribution
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
It was previously lumped together with Chinese Vivid Niltava under the name of Vivid Niltava.
Habitat
Moist evergreen montanes.
Behaviour
The diet includes flying insects and small fruits.
