Identification
10cm
- Deep blue upperparts, sides of head and neck
- A noticeable white patch runs from centre of throat, through breast to belly
Distribution
Pakistan, Kashmir, Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet. Winters in India.

Habitat
Hills and forests of oak, rhododendron, pine, fir, occasionally orchards.

Diet
The diet includes insects.
Breeding
It builds a nest from fine moss with some strips of bark and fine grass, lined with hair and rootlets. The 3 - 5 eggs are olive-green to dull stone-buff, freckled all over with reddish brown.

Calls of a pair nesting in the vicinity, both male and female were carrying food and calling, as heard in the recording/ calls of Rufous Sibia and Spotted Dove and Great Barbet are also heard.
