18-19 cm.
- Black forehead to nape, lores, upper ear-coverts and upperparts, glossed blue-green
- White supercilium
- Black wings with two white wing-bars and white on tertials
- White rump
- Pure white chin, throat, lower ear-coverts and rest of underparts
Sexes similar.
Distribution
Endemic to Tanimbar Islands, Moluccas, Indonesia.
Common in its small range.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species.
Formerly considered conspecific with Black-browed Triller.
Habitat
Found in forest, at forest edge, in secondary growth, scrub, gardens and mangroves.
Occurs mainly in lowlands.
Behaviour
Usually seen singly, in pairs or in small groups, sometimes in mixed-species flocks.
Diet
Feeds on fruit and arthropods.
Forages in the tree canopy and in middle storey of forest.
