Distribution
Southern Asia: breeds in Burma, Thailand, Cambodia, south and central Laos and southern Vietnam. Resident.
Taxonomy
This is a polytypic species[1 consisting of 3 subspecies.

- Southern Myanmar and Thailand

- Southern Indochina
Habitat
Dry, open woodland, riverine and mixed deciduous woodlands and savanna.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists mostly of the larger insects, such as beetles, cicadas and grasshoppers); small birds, frogs, snakes and lizards.
