Identification
Length 18–20 cm
Adult: Black upperparts without a white wing-bar; Bright yellow underparts.
Juvenile: Brownish upperparts and dull yellow underparts.
Distribution
Western Africa: found in the highlands of south-eastern Nigeria and western Cameroon.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species.[1]
Habitat
Dense undergrowth in moist montane forests, forest edges and thickets.
Behaviour
More bold than most other boubous, often sitting on an exposed perch.
Diet
Their diet consists almost entirely of insects. They general forage in pairs.
Vocalisation
A whistled duet.
