Distribution

Asia: found in the lowlands of eastern Burma, adjacent Thailand, northern Laos and Malay Peninsula

Taxonomy

Monotypic[1]

This taxon is considered a subspecies of Pale-headed Woodpecker (sensu lato) by some authors[1]

Habitat

Bamboo forests.
