Taxonomy
Tityridae is a family in the Order Passeriformes.
This family is not yet accepted by all authorities. As the Opus follows Clements in term of families and sequencing it's listed here.
The genera of this familiy have either been placed in Cotingidae, Pipridae, or Tyrannidae before. Within the family two subfamilies have been proposed: Laniisominae including Laniisoma, Laniocera, and Schiffornis; and Tityrinae including Iodopleura, Tityra, Xenopsaris, and Pachyramphus.
