Identification
Distribution
Three well separated populations: Central America: Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and northern Nicaragua; and from Costa Rica to western Panama South America: west of the Andes in Colombia and Ecuador
Taxonomy
Two subspecies are recognized:
- A. v variegaticeps
- S Mexico (Guerrero and Veracruz) to w Panama
- A. v temporalis
- W slope of Western Andes of Colombia and Ecuador
Habitat
Moist lowland forests and montanes.
