Identification

Distribution

Costa Rica and Panama, mostly on the Caribbean side1.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species2.

This species has in the past been considered a part of Scarlet-browed Tanager3 with which it does not overlap in range.

Habitat

Moist lowland forests.
