Distribution
South America: found in Venezuela, Guyana, Brazil, Peru, Bolivia and Argentina.
Taxonomy
Formerly placed in genus Basileuterus.
Subspecies
There are 3 subspecies[1]:

- M. b. bivittatus:
- M. b. argentinae:
M. b. roraimae is sometimes split as Roraima Warbler[2].
Habitat
Moist montanes.
