Report to Zeiss.
There is a great 1 metre telescope somewhere near there with adaptive optics sometimes.

No diopter? Steiner would call that „Sports Auto Focus“ or something ….Went for a walk in Cannes, binocular on strap, brought it up for a view, couldn't see clearly, tried to adjust the diopter, not there.
What now?

Yeah, and some wise man said "the lightest binocular is the one you don't carry".No diopter? Steiner would call that „Sports Auto Focus“ or something ….
Edmund the focus wheel should still work on the left-hand optical tube so you can use it as a monocular. I would take it back to the dealer and ask them to get a solution from Zeiss, either a repair or replacement.Went for a walk in Cannes, binocular on strap, brought it up for a view, couldn't see clearly, tried to adjust the diopter, not there.

I dunno - I had the binocular on its strap diagonally across head and shoulder, and when I lifted it for a view the knob was gone.Edmund the focus wheel should still work on the left-hand optical tube so you can use it as a monocular. If the dioptre knob had simply fallen off, your original adjustment should still be in place and you would be able to see through it OK. The fact that this adjustment position has been lost completely suggests a significant rotation of the knob before it came away. This surely happened by some sort of accident. Was anything heavy placed on top of the Pocket unintentionally such as a bag or backpack?
Sorry to hear this happened.

Yes once I took out my Terra 8x25 from a tight bag and the diopter wheel detached.Maybe it is a design flaw! The Victory Zeiss 8x25 diopter whell is too exposed to involuntary mechanical contact/friction when take out the binoculars from a tight case. This is obvious only when you look at the shape of folded binoculars! My opinion is that it should not be carried in tight bags. The most suitable is the one from Zeiss, but I know this is very big case for such binoculars and kills the idea of portability

Hi Edmund,I dunno - I had the binocular on its strap diagonally across head and shoulder, and when I lifted it for a view the knob was gone.
It looks like this knob is just pressed on, not screwed on or fixed, from what I see of the emplacement. I have no idea why and when it decided to come unstuck, but there was no bump or crash. I use the diopter a lot, because I need one setting with and one setting without eyeglasses.
Because of the absence of caps and raincatcher, I thought the Zeiss was a tough little thing for field use, like my old Leica 8x20 and Swaro 8x20, but it appears I was wrong on that count.

Hi Edmund,
What you experienced with the bin is a well known reality for this model and Zeiss will take care for you.
