I have the 100mm version. Very good for a first scope. Sturdy tripod needed!!

I have the Acuter ST22-67X100 zoom spotting scope angled, which has a larger objective lens than the 80. Overall very pleased with it and it does enhance my bird watching. Was disappointed with the zoom lens, fine at the lower magnification but blurred from 45x up. I purchased a fixed ME19 lens approx 30x and find this much better, also a wider view and all for 25 extra excellent.
Hoping to use with a digital camera, but no success yet.

I am sure if I used a more expensive scope I would see the difference but just starting out I find this better than good.

The bag is alright to carry it in but I always take it off completly to use.

Seemed okay for price. Bought at CleySpy, with second hand tripod, compared at time with Delta 70. Loads better looking at pigeons on church from there. Delta had lots of colour fringing ,this didn't! Weeks later stood side by side with Opticron 80mm 800 , yes that WAS better but not 650 for a total amateur. Have used since for digiscoping. Bought a T2-M42 adapter on ebay, screws straight on the zoom lens with rubber removed. 15-or 20mm ext tube from SLR days and fitted film 35mm camera. works a treat. Also machined up nylon adapter to fit inside the extention tube to fit lens on fuji A340 digital. This works well except checking focus on small screen is awkward and needed my 3x reading glasses. I took scissors to supplied carry case for focus wheel and tripod mount areas, sothat I could leave it on at all times. This just saves a knock or two in the car. Paid 149

Excellent light scope for first purchase, good for taking in and out of car without too much worrying about knocking it about.

I've been using one of these for over a year, lot of scope for your money, highly recommend for a first scope.

This is my first scope, so you may wish to allow for the fact that I really don\'t know what I\'m talking about - specifically I haven\'t used a top-end scope so comments about image quality are to be taken with a pinch of salt.

I bought this from Cley Spy after their usual excellent sales service - they really take the time to let you try it out properly. This is a budget scope, but the cost cutting has been done sensibly I think. The scope comes with a 20-68 zoom eyepiece, and a zipped bag to cover it, and claims to be waterproof - not as yet had occasion to find out how waterproof.

The bag will fit over the scope with eyepiece fitted, but hangs loose - you can\'t close it properly, making the carry strap fitted to the bag fairly useless. Similarly there is no hole for the focussing screw, you have to reach inside the bag to focus. I stopped using it fairly quickly.

The eyepiece has a twist down cup for spectacle users. I bought the angled eyepiece, but they do a straight through version of this scope as well. They also do a 60mm version, but the slight reduction in cost really isn\'t worth it.

Image quality is fine with the sun behind you or to the side, but looking at birds with the sun behind them will cause considerable colour fringing on the edges (although the absolute centre of the image is fine). The zoom works well, although at maximum magnification there is relatively little travel in the focussing screw, making focussing a bit of a fiddly process until you get used to it.

In all a fine budget scope - it has its drawbacks - mainly the colour fringing, but this is only a problem when you\'re facing the sun. Otherwise image quality is fine, the zoom works well and the whole scope has a robust feel to it - I\'m not worried that it\'s going to break or fall apart. Well worth consideration if you are looking for a cheap scope.
