http://www.firstpost.com/business/govt-nod-to-eco-sensitive-zone-around-okhla-bird-sanctuary-to-help-noida-home-buyers-2397284.html Worrying (and for other protected areas) as this reduces the previous 'buffer zones' in place down to 100 meters on three sides. Another call to kill birds of prey

Don't know if this posted elsewhere, but another 'landowner' missing all sorts of points in the culling birds debate (from today's Times). Note the hen harrier reference....... http://www.thetimes.co.uk/tto/opinion/thunderer/article3712041.ece

    China to move mountains

Not an expert on this part of the world and willing to concede that not all reportage is accurate, but given some of the track history, this can't be good, can it? http://uk.news.yahoo.com/china-flattening-700-mountains-build-city-131548826.html

    Oh heck (or something)

:h?: Well, I digested the thread on the Parus major superspecies and then ploughed (or is that 'plowed') my way through (or is that 'thru'....aagghh, stop it) the discussions on Anglo-U.S names (and as someone who's done three trips to eastern North America, I'm still only just recovering from...
