    Wildmoor Quarry/Landfill

    THought I would put these pics on their own page so as not to clog up other ones..... Thanks to Laurie (rollingthunder)for the tip (pun) off about the extraordinary collection of the Ravens here. Also I had a flock of Starling doing the evening Murmuration over the edge of the quarry even...

    Not sure what...

    I thought I knew what this was at 1st as i expected a certain bird but after seeing the rubbish pics it did not look right. It came out of reeds on one side of pool and made for reeds on other side by small flights or scurrying across the water. Very small - see pic with mallard behind it...

    Hope I am allowed to start this thread ..... Just migrated in from the Worcestershire site -even though I am in West Mids. Had a little trip out to the Long Mynd area on Friday in not very nice weather but still had a couple of firsts for me. Had a Male Emerald Damsel and a Pair of Black Darters...

    I too was struggling to see a Powis thread.....and looking at the participation on all the other areas I am asking...are their ANY birders in Wales..... I think I am spoilt as I have Upton Warren as my local patch and the numbers clicking on their thread adds up to more than all the other ones...

    FOUR ASHES and District.

    I now have to travel up the M5/M6 to work at Four Ashes Industrial Park and intend to do a bit of spotting to at least get something out of all the travelling. There's a canal at the back with fields beyond with Gailey and Belvide a few miles away. I'm sure it's in the West Mids but correct me...

    WAXWINGS at Cotteridge

    Met a chap at Bittell this morning who had dipped on seeing some Waxies at Cotteridge this morning .....he had come to see the Smew but it had just flown to Upper so he was having a bad (normal for me) day. Does anyone know if there are Waxies around that area and if so where...he was looking...
