    Problem pigeons!

Help! Suburbia has been invaded by these NYC "sophisticates"! Our feeder is regularly visited by a couple dozen who park themselves on our roof or the neighbor's trees! Even though we switched to a "weight-sensitive" metal feeder, the grackles, etc., bring the seed down to the ground for our...

    Goldfinches?

Not so! This is truly weird! Just saw a small FLOCK of goldfinches today in the NEXT back yard... twittering noisily! Did I say something wrong?!? Insult them somehow?!? Maybe someone has a nicer thistle tube with a yellower top??? Could it be that the freaking SPARROWS are "powering them...

    Goldfinches?

Can't explain the goldfinch "mystery"! We had an ABUNDANCE of them all these years; they'd hang from the thistle feeder (bright yellow top) 5,6,7 at a time... males and females! Now... nothing! Any chance this has something to do with "West Nile"??

    Nasty Woodpeckers!

Nasty Woodpeckers, pt.2 Thanks, Katy! Been "feeding" for some 30 years and never saw such "violence"! I DO have a "mesh" feeder holding only "oilers" - but this guy likes to cling on to the side of my "anti-squirrel" tube (covered with 1/2" mesh) containing a mixture of seeds. The "little...

    Nasty Woodpeckers!

Hi! I'm having trouble with Red-Bellied Woodpeckers at my birdfeeder. They are very aggressive and kill the smaller birds who compete for the seeds. Is there a better feeder to stop this "carnage"? Thanks, ...Jayanem.
