    BirdingApp

Dear birdwatchers. As an app developer / birdwatcher I have combined my hobbies and developed an app for birdwatchers, together with a friend. The app is called BirdingApp and it is just released to the iOS appstore. It was already present for a while in the Android play store. It's a...

    Bird ID apps

I do not know any app that has this capability for Asia specific. I have developed BirdingApp (hobby project) for Android devices, it contains almost every Asian species but has no feature for identificating birdspecies, it is more like a search engine. I think that this is not exactly what you...

What general advices can you give to a novice wildlife photohunter?

This is my strategy too, works out fine. You only need to be careful in specific situation. For example when you take pictures besides a road where traffic is coming towards you. Little rocks and splashing water could damage your lens.

It all goes better with a wingman

Then we went looking for buzzards, drove from one farm to another. Usually you see a bunch of them flying over the fields or sitting on a pole but this day we only saw a few. We did not had a great opportunity to take perfect pictures of them, but still some that are pretty nice. Looking for...

hawk of sparrow-hawk in The Netherlands

Hi, I have photographed this species in flight,.. My best guess (as an amateur) is that it's an sparrow-hawk or a hawk. It seemed a bit too big for a sparrow-hawk. Peace of cookie for some of you I hope? Photographed it at the edge of a forest with a lake nearby.

    The Elusive Kingfisher

Hey, you're link isn't working here. I admire the patience that people got that took these kind of shots. I can imagine that you sometimes go hide somewhere for hours and then return home with no pictures. I might give it a try soon, I've seen a few in the Oostvaardersplassen in the Netherlands

    A dutch polder day

Last weekend I had a trip to the dutch polder in an attempt to take photos of whatever birds of prey might cross my path. The dutch polder is a great place to be when you are looking for birds of prey because the area is not densely covered so there is an excellent view over the crop fields...
