hawk of sparrow-hawk in The Netherlands (1 Viewer)

Hi, I have photographed this species in flight,.. My best guess (as an amateur) is that it's an sparrow-hawk or a hawk. It seemed a bit too big for a sparrow-hawk.

Photographed it at the edge of a forest with a lake nearby.

Can you please explain how you can tell the difference between the two species when you see this picture? that way I could learn something today :p
