Avoid needing repairs!

Where are all the 8x32 SF reviews? After all the speculation...
I had a pair of 8x32 SFs for two days, liked the fov but, with spectacles, adjusting the eyecups to get the full view resulted in major blackouts, raise them sufficiently to stop that and all that extra fov lost behind the blurred edge of the eyecups. I'll stick with my EL 8x32 FP until the... -

Glare, flare, internal reflections and veiling??? Someone care to explain?
Thanks for that, it helps explain it. I also realised that the floaters are most obvious when the background is dark (e.g. trees) and the veiling glare is strong.- nantycoy

May I add my 2d's worth... Swaro 8x32 Field Pro, only 2 months old. Yesterday I experienced true veiling glare for the first time (sun about 15° above my view) but here's the odd thing... concentrating on the veil I could see my floaters quite sharply (I'm 73 so have plenty to spare!). 8x32EL FP - I carefully cut off the 6 raised bumps inside each eyecup and they are now a snug, but still tight, fit which pull off smoothly. -

Zeiss Victory SFs Available in Store
Well, at least one store... The Birder's Store, Worcester, just notified me thay have both the Victory SF 8x32 and 10x32 in stock. Swoptics are expecting them by Monday and Clifton Cameras have their 3 pre-orders in stock. I am sooo tempted but having just bought a discounted pair of 8x32 ELs... ! -

The objective lenses of the new 8x32 EL SV Field Pro I got as a replacement are both red (production code 2020, week 26, so pretty much the latest incarnation). In the end the CLs are being sent back to the dealer for return to Swarovski and I bought a pair of 8x32 EL SV instead! At least both lenses on these have the same anti-reflective coatings! -

Hi. First post for many a year! I have just taken delivery of a new pair of Swarovski 8x30 CLs to replace my aging (17 years old but still brilliant) Nikon HGs as I wanted something much lighter. So far so good. Optically they are on a par with the HGs but sharper across more of the field...
