What is the best phone camera currently for digiscoping?

It’s called the novograde double gripper

What is the best phone camera currently for digiscoping?

Thanks for the reply, I do use an adapter. The SE is nice in terms of quality but some better resolution and low light performance would be nice. If I do upgrade I’ll post some impressions!

What is the best phone camera currently for digiscoping?

Hi! I am currently doing some photography/videos with my iPhone SE on my Kowa scope, but was wondering if anyone has experienced some of the latest iterations of cameras? I was looking at some rumored specs of the iPhone 15 coming out…. Thr bigger pro model (plus) has a longer telephoto. Would...

    Kowa TSN-88 tweaks

Can anyone confirm that the coatings on the 88 and 99 are the same?

Any customer review of new tsn-99?

I have had mine for around 10 months and love it. I haven’t seen any issues with image quality; infact id say it’s superb! No CA, nice focusing, and build. Quite light also for the size and glass in there. I’ve done some nightsky viewing with it and all the stars are perfectly clear, I can see...

Very Impressed by the Curio 7x21

Yes it’s great. Can’t believe the view that comes out of such a small package

    Noctivid 8x42- wow!

Haha not quite 155 lbs wet

    Noctivid 8x42- wow!

Thanks yes I probably should have picked up some conquests instead, that would have been the smart financial choice but I am a “buy once cry once” kind of guy haha.

    Noctivid 8x42- wow!

I did an experiment this morning after reading your reply… I held the noctivids up to my eyes and set a timer. I could notice them after 2 mins and got tired after 3.5 mins. I waiting 5 mins and did the same thing with just holding up my arms and it was very similar.

    Noctivid 8x42- wow!

Since you already have alpha glass I doubt you will be blown away by the difference I saw when coming from my beat up old monarchs. Your binos are the ones I would always drool over and covet from other guys who volunteered at the banding station with me. I sort of wanted a bino not man people...

    Noctivid 8x42- wow!

I did as you said (roof line), I failed to notice much… I did notice how much CA my old monarchs had when comparing back and forth though. Anyways I just wanted to make this post to say that after everything I read it’s really blown out of proportion, to my eyes it’s really nothing… maybe some...

    Noctivid 8x42- wow!

This is true!! From star tests to CA etc I appreciate the wanting to dissect all the nitty gritty for sure, I can get like that…. Infact I recently had my wife walk in on me trying to replicate the star test with my Kowa scope…. Tin foil, flashlight etc… she doesn’t understand me sometimes lol.

    Noctivid 8x42- wow!

Thanks yes I forgot to mention that point, the stray light suppression is excellent as well, I was pointing just off the sun coming through the trees and I could still see very good contrast and detail

    Noctivid 8x42- wow!

I don’t wear glasses yet but I’ve heard from what I read that they are great for those who do. I’m sure someone else can qualify that!

    Noctivid 8x42- wow!

I have been using a monarch 8x42 (non ED glass) for the last 9 years, and they have served me well... not the sharpest but nice size, and weight, decent image quality for what I believe was $250 when I bought them. I have been thinking of upgrading and I had every intention of picking up an 8x42...

Very Impressed by the Curio 7x21

Yes I do, they have already been getting banged around a lot! The 7x keeps the pocket size steadier as well. But you are right part of my enthusiasm may be that I just I’ve never used a pocket binocular, so this post is in praise to great glass in small packages!

Swarovski Curio 7x21 versus Victory 8x25 and Ultravid 8x20

That’s a perfect birding combo in my opinion

Very Impressed by the Curio 7x21

I have never owned a pocket binocular before, but I just bought a used set of Noctivids and was trying to think of a complimentary pair to buy. I bought these because the size would be great for my 10 year old daughter who likes to go in birding hikes with me, and I also do a lot of canoe trips...

Did changing to a lighter 32mm over 42mm bino really make that much difference?

Thanks, that is a very thoughtful/helpful reply. I like this forum :)

Did changing to a lighter 32mm over 42mm bino really make that much difference?

How much of a difference in ease of viewing do you find the switch from x42 to x32? I am currently in a rabbit hole of figuring out which will be my next set of bins. I am thinking of going from monarch 5 8x42 to high end - noctivid, ultravid it SF, or even FL or conquest. I’m not a Swarovision...

    TSN-99A Stay-on Cover

Reviving this just to ask how you are liking the 99a compared to the 883?
  23. S

    99a or 883

The TE-80 while digiscoping with my iPhone is night and day! It captures the full frame/no need to crop and the image quality is outstanding! What an amazing combo. Yes I’ll keep my TE-11 for backup/reach if I need it (I have the 1.6 extender as well). This has been an expensive year but I feel...

Is the 8x32 Victory SF really worth almost 2.5x the cost of the 8x32 Conquest HD?

That would be super exciting if true, I might wait to buy my noctivid then!

Is the 8x32 Victory SF really worth almost 2.5x the cost of the 8x32 Conquest HD?

Yes I heard the Nocs are on another level for Image quality! I’ll probably choose between them max UVHD 32 and SF 32’s. The only problem is the only shop that lets you try them out is 6 h drive from me! I’m going to call and see if I can buy them and send 2 back if I don’t attach any...
