    Any ideas and background on this. I've never seen one with a cap like this. The guy who pointed it out to me said a blue tit was making a nest in the hole a while back. It sure looks like it is growing out of a hole.

    Moth id please Kent UK - orange underwing ?

    I was in a field yesterday photographing Brown Argus and Common Blue and these moths were driving to distraction. I was back in the field today and managed to snatch a shot during one of it's brief landing. In flight the orange/brown is very noticeable.

    first butterfly of the year ??

    I caught a brief glimpse of a butterfly this morning in the meadow. Not 100% sure but looked like a Red Admiral. A sure sign that insect life is picking up.
