    My Wrens Not very exotic but with out question the bird I look for in my yard is the Carolina Wren. A great bird to study. The ability for this creature to maintain my attention is amazing. Yesterday one of the males started calling for a mate! YES! jneville

    Indiana Signs of Spring In the last two weeks I've seen male Red-Winged Blackbirds, Robins and a pair of Eastern Bluebirds. Very pleased about Springs arrival! jneville

    Hummingbirds with other birds around?

    Crickieheather, I agree, you should still have the hummers. They may be a little jumpy when a bird comes close but I doubt if they will avoid the feeder. Hummingbirds are great! huh? jneville

    peanuts or sunflowers seeds

    The Peanuts!! There are 2 pair of Blue Jays that take every peanut(in shell) within an hour. They carry them off one by one. A titmouse will take one every now and then. Overall, with all birds included it would be the black oil sunflower. jneville

    Joe Neville here...new guy, just joined. I'm looking forward to soaking in the knowledge. I have been a bird lover for years, spend a fortune on feed! I live in Indiana, USA and looking forward to the hummers arriving in a month or so.
