Thank you very much, the photo looks much better now. I will have to learn how to use photoshop... Now that I have made some shots I more and more think about selling my Olivon Universal Adapter. Everytime I slide the camera back in front of the ocular, it seems to be off-center. Another...

    Joint Thread

I sketched this portrait of a shore lark some weeks ago and decided to add some colour. Not the best idea, I think, because the brown on the head got a bit too dark and the shadows on the head vanished...But nevertheless, have a look at it. I'll better stick to drawing black and white ;).

What's the rarest/most unusual bird you've seen in the wild?

World: Californian Condor two years ago and Himalayan Snowcock four years ago, plus perhaps Cloud-forest Screech-Owl in Bolivia, but I don't know for sure if I identified it correctly. It was gone within a second. Germany: Ural Owl and caipercaillie in Bavarian Forest National Park last year...

Help! swaro 15x56 or leica 12x50?

I have the Leica ultravid and am very pleased with it. It may have less magnification, but as you mentioned the Leica is (in my eyes) better concerning the brightness and sharpness which is very important. If you want to have much magnification, you can watch the bird through your scope. Plus...

    Waterbirds and Raptors in Florida

If it indeed was a heron, it could have been a Cattle Egret in breeding plumage. Some more informations would be very useful...she says that she has not got a good look at them, so she could have seen a white ibis for example...but this species is not a bird of prey of course. Probably...
