    Ageing of Cuckoo, England

On 10 July I trapped and ringed this Cuckoo at Gibraltar Point, England. I would welcome any opinions about the ageing of this bird. The underparts (not photographed) were mostly that of an adult female - mostly barred black and white but with some dull rufous on the breast.

    Close-ringed Parrot

Apologies if this is not the most suitable forum for this. I have just returned to Gibraltar Point from a holiday abroad and have found on the table (presumably intended for me) a dead, close-ringed bird that appears to me to be an African Orange-bellied Parrot - no dead parrot jokes please ;)...

    Phylloscopus - Landguard, England

Warblers! Don't you love them, or hate them, or both? Today at Landguard Bird Observatory, Suffolk, England, we trapped a Willow Warbler/Chiffchaff-type Phylloscopus that was clearly emarginated to p6 on both wings (please see attached photographs). This should mean that it is a Chiffchaff...

    Unclear Photographs - Kuwait

One of the birders in Kuwait took these, somewhat unclear, photographs. I would welcome any opinions about the identity of this bird. It seems to me to involve as much photointerpretation as identification skills. However, please feel free to comment.

    Kuwait Wader

Mike Pope photographed this wader at Al-Abraq Al-Khabari in the Kuwait desert recently and has asked me to identify it. The angle of view is certainly a bit unusual, which makes this a challenge. Very Strange Bird in Kuwait

Mike Pope and Pekka Fagel took the attached photographs in Kuwait recently of a bird associating with a group of White Wagtails. They considered it to be a mostly albinistic Barn Swallow. The bill and claws look a bit too long for Barn Swallow in my opinion, but it may just be the angle from...
