    Sorry, been in Bulgaria for a week lol No more has been seen or heard of the 2 missing males, especially suspicious as one had a mate and nest ! Highly likely they have been shot, or killed in some other way. Not good news, there will always be imbeciles out there i guess :(

    Only saw one yesterday, from waderscrape and shallowwater hides, on Tuesday, i saw 2. Just before i arrived Tuesday, the visitor centre had 4 in view though, apparently.

    have always found the 1 series metering far more accurate than my other cameras, may be why you were struggling with it first time out ! you soon get used to it :)

    was at the Lyndon visitor centre yesterday pm, there are now 4 Ospreys (at least) at Rutland, saw one catch a fish and one do a fly by from the visitor centre. Just before i arrived, they had 4 visible apparently.

    Havent read through all of the posts, 29 pages is a bit too much ;) so apologies if any of this has been covered before, 1) If you shoot raw, turn off ALO, HTP same as the 50D, 2) if you use Lightroom, try Canon DPP instead, LR introduces loads of noise and softens the images up quite a lot...

    They have had at least one chick every year, and definitely have at least one from this year, saw 3 flying round the tower recently :) only downside is the noise at 520am, and of course the beheaded corpses of birds, not everyone appreciates that ;) lol

    I have breeding Peregrines less than 300 feet from my flat, can sit on the Balcony and watch them pretty much every day :) been here for 5 or 6 years too :) we get Kestrels and Sprawks here too, but the peregrines tend to keep much at bay ;)
