Marsh Bird - Zarate, Buenos Aires, Argentina

Try to add larger image. My initial thought was tawny crowned pygmy tyrant (which had been reported in the area), but the wings seem off for this species.

    Shorebirds sites near Stuttgart?

Seems like there is a spot for collared flycatcher close to Stuttgart, per eBird. Orchard & Streuobstwiese Dettenhausen/Waldenbuch, Baden-Württemberg, DE ( 48°37'04.5"N 9°07'17.6"E ). Per comments there were nest boxes being used there. But not sure if publicly accessible/visible or not...

    Shorebirds sites near Stuttgart?

Thank you very much for the prompt responses, greatly appreciated! Collared Flycatcher would certainly be new - and any targets or locations to focus on in town are appreciated. I will certainly look at opportunities for travel to the other sites - but hope to enjoy Stuttgart as well.

    Shorebirds sites near Stuttgart?

Will be visiting Stuttgart in late May, and i was hoping to look for some shorebirds while in the area. Echinger Stausee looks like a great spot, but would take some effort to get there without a rental car (2.5hr drive). I would appreciate any tips on alternate locations to consider. Thank you.

Comment by 'Guest' in media 'Surfbird: Ventura, CA'

Thank you. It was great fun watching a group of surfbirds jump down to the waterline to feed, only to scramble back to higher ground moments later as the surf crashed against the rocks. I just wish I found the Wandering Tattler I was looking for as well. :D

    Alcid - Offshore, Ventura, California

Having spent some more time on the water, I am quite convinced the bird in question is a Cassin's Auklet. I got some much better views, and captured sequence of shots transitioning into those similar to the attached views. Thank you all for the feedback.

Salton Sea, California - Large Gull ID

I had these two down as Western Gulls, from a February 2012 visit to the Salton Sea in California. Have since read a few times that Western Gulls are not expected at this location - and many are likely misidentified Yellow-footed Gulls (especially non-adults). So i would appreciate any...

    Pennsylvania Prairie, Missouri

Found this site scanning through ebird for locations to search for Smith's Longspur. Can't seem to find any information as to whether this is public land - or whom to ask for permission if appropriate. From the satelite view it looks like a field with no parking lot or such. Is anyone from...
