    ID Please - Pemba, Mozambique

    Any ideas on an ID for this fella? A friend took the picture in Pemba, Mozambique. Is it one of the Bishop species or maybe a weaver? The picture has been lightened slightly to bring out the plumage detail a bit better.

    Barents Sea Raptor ID please

    OK so I'm on a rig up in the Barents Sea at the top end of Norway. The rig crew find a raptor trapped in the moonpool area and manage to shoot some video. It's pretty ropey, as are the screen grabs from it, the bird was tearing around in a pretty small confined area until they managed to open...

    Birds 1-3 Over all impression of a very pale bird. Marbled Duck? or maybe Female Pintail? Birds 4 & 5 Not a scooby :-(

    LBJs from Almeria, Spain.

    Totally pants at LBJs. Any ideas folks? I think the first two shots is a Reed Warbler? Second bird, no idea, heavyish, black bill is throwing me off. Finally third bird, Audouin's Gull? cheers for the help in advance. EDIT: Added another shot of the first bird, slightly better profile of the bill.

    Seen at Cuskinny Marsh, Great Island on a filthy wet day, very overcast. I thought it was a Common Sandpiper, just one thing is bugging me - I'm pretty sure the feet were projecting past the tail when it came into land. Got some very ropey video if you want to see it...

    Plover - Rig in Middle of North Sea

    Any ideas folks? I think it's possibly a Golden Plover, but as I've never seen one in the flesh before I could be wrong. Foggy here so the bird possibly was lost and made for the sound of the fog horn thinking it was going to make landfall. Apologies for the quality of the pic - a colleague...

    All taken in Almeria, Spain during June this year. Spain 6 - a "duck" is the best I can do :eek!: Spain 7 - Spotted Redshank? Spain 8 - I don't even remember taking this one sry - looks vaguely Flycatchery to me??

    Equipment Insurance for travel abroad

    I know there's several posts on this subject but they all seem kind of dated. I was just wondering if anyone has any good tips for equipment (scope, bins, camera, etc...) travel insurance to Spain? Travelling from Ireland so if anyone knows an Irish company that does it? cheers.

    Just wondering if anyone is using the HR 80 GA ED scope? Any words of wisdom as I'm hoping to buy one in the next month or so? Eyepiece choices? For "normal" viewing and digiscoping?
