    Birding at Loch of Kinnordy

I used to enjoy visiting Kinnordy but It has gone downhill and I have not been back, since early this year.I doubt the RSPB would neglect a Reserve like this,If It was south of the border. So much potential but no thought plan

    Birding at Loch of Kinnordy

Kinnordy Loch Is a great Reserve,or at least It was when I was an Infrequent visitor 10 or so years ago.It often crossed my mind, that the RSPB did not do a great job of managing It.Perhaps because It Is not as busy and never brought any revenue Into the organisation,It was often overlooked.Just...

I have to agree Nicola. From when I first started visiting Kinnordy, compared to now,the difference is night and day.Perhaps because the RSPB don't make any money from visitors, compared to the larger Reserves at Loch Garten and In England.

    Birding at Loch of Kinnordy

Had a quick visit this afternoon. No sign of the Marsh Harrier/LRP or Wood Sandpiper but the Osprey was fishing over the Loch and 4 male Shelduck, came as a bit of a surprise.A Peregrine was flying along the hill at the back of the Loch and signs of new life were around, with 3 different broods...

    Birding at Loch of Kinnordy

I was at Kinnordy yesterday and just got the Impression, the place Is not being looked after,as well as In the past. Then again,I am not local to the area,so perhaps I am wrong. The water levels are low,the feeders are empty and the Warden posts In the Hide, that he Is only there, one day a week...

That Is disappointing Darell. :C To many,Otters and Pine Maten are "ahh, ooooh" cute little creatures but personally, they are just oversized Rats but they have their right to live,as we all do.
