    I pulled in by Churchfield & saw birds on the sunflowers at a distance from the road but carried on & parked by Porters Mill. I'll try it. It's the crop that does it. We had 35 at Woodrow (Chaddesley) along with 1500+ Finch, hundreds of Redwing & Fieldfare, Yellowhammer, Meadow Pipits & 10 Corn...

    Good Finch flock moving from sunflower seed heads next to Tappenhall Pool to orchard over the lane, nr Porters Mill.... amongst them good nos. Brambling m & f.

    This morning between 4 & 3 ...Barn Owl hunting low over meadow back of fishing pools. Grasshopper Warbler briefly (grainy pic), Buzzard hunting in same meadow & Red Kite over 4. Numerous Reed Warblers & Buntings. 2 Kestrels, Green & GS Woodpecker

    Thanks Dave....wasn't certain & didn't think a Blythes was possible but a Marsh may be. It just didn't bob about like a Reed & seemed a bit heavier and slower. Again the shot below of a breeding pair near the other seems to be Marsh...?? took loads of shots which Reeds don't allow as they move...

    Hi Dave... Could this be a Marsh/Blythe Reed Warbler ?Was larger & different call to a Common. Also there were 3 calling Cettis between 3 & 4 this morning & a female nesting. Did you hear the Grass Hopper Warbler 30m down from 4 twds main Rd bridge?

    You're right about the Chiffchaffs BUT funny we spoke about Willow Warblers as I think I heard one down by Salwarpe. I could be wrong I usually am 🙃... took some shots hoping to confirm one.....but all Cc's.

    Looks like a worthwhile visit Julie. Glad you saw the Cuckoo on the dead tree.....must be a favourite spot for him. I went early this morning and saw another Cuckoo (could have been the same one) further towards the A449. Next time you go, there is a Cettis Warbler at bridge 3 singing...
