Great news! - successful breeding of Cetti's Warbler confirmed this morning - at least 3 juveniles being fed by parent along the canal between Porter's Mill and Tapenhall. As far as I'm aware this is the first breeding record.

3 Ravens over Porter's Mill
1 Willow Warbler near Salwarpe
Lots of Swifts over Chatley

Brown Hawkers amongst the dragonflies

That is good news Dave..... your pride & joy :-O

WOOD WARBLER in trees along the canal just west of Salwarpe. Good views obtained quite low down - larger and studier looking than Chiff / Willows. Broad bright yellow supercillium, lemon yellow throat and upper breast, contrasting with pure white belly / underparts. Bright green wings with contrasting dark tertials and primaries. Long winged and shorter tailed - giving a different shape to the bright juvenile Willow Warblers that are also about (1seen earlier in Coney Meadow). Not heard to call. My first for the area. I always thought I'd get a singing spring bird before an autumn migrant. An immediately very striking bird.
