    Probably my best garden and patch year ever quality wise BM, although nos. were down on previous years. However, I’m certainly not complaining, as I’m sure 2024 will bring some surprises, perhaps a House Sparrow or two, after a two year absence I think I’m deserving.🤣

    Well Richard, I’ve given up on Sprow!…but I espied 5 Egyptian Geese on the North lake a mile away + good nos.of Shoveller (if only) and if the hard weather continues I’m hopeful for Snipe, let’s pray to the gods for no.90 into which ever shape it falls.🙏

    With overnight temps on freezing, I was hopeful this am…that “the gods” might show favour once more….and they did with a bang! Circa 40 Redwings on my Ash (biggest count this year) viewed from the downstairs kitchen window, as I looked up into the heavens for perhaps a hard weather “Snipe”...

    Yes the “polls” are around this year, found possibly the same nine I had in the garden earlier (on Sunday) today, circa a mile away. Oddly enough, they chose the “same” lowly birch as last year’s dozen, perhaps the catkins have a certain “je ne sais quoi” 😮

    Have made a right “Kybosh” of my garden list, I seemed to be going backwards with double counting and not entering my diary ticks on occasion. Thus now fully resolved and after “treble checking” am now confidently on 86! (forgot my GCGrebe) 😮 finally now on 87! Now desperately combing the skies...

    The purple patch continues!….would’ve been no 86, however I found that I’ve double counted Pied Wagtail thus I’m still at 85,😩 9 Lesser Redpolls around the pond briefly this am managed a less than perfect shot before they “winged it” up over the ride and into the forest.😊
