    Canon SX50 Specs

I take pictures for different reasons and can be pleased with a blurry shot of a rarity or a bird I haven't seen before or a crisp shot of a common species. The SX50 allows uncommon reach to capture those distant rarity and record shots and will also deliver pleasingly sharp shots of more...

I could have done with some more time tinkering before I left on my trip as some of my images are spoiled by pixellation. Here's some of my bird pics from my China Trip on my blog.

    Canon SX50 Specs

Here's one of my more successful bird shots from my China trip. At times I was kicking myself for not taking my 'proper camera kit' but I know I wouldn't have wanted to lug it about with the family all the time.

Hi Bob I was referring to Bob Freeman's pictures of the bee eaters. Your wagtail looked fine but like you, I wouldn't have been happy with all the artefact in the other shots. We can't expect too much from this bridge camera but it's nice that it will give great shots sometimes and decent...

Thank you Bob. Really stunning birds in a lush setting. I'm slightly surprised there isn't more feather detail with the birds that big in the frame but I guess that's me being too ambitious for this little camera. Looks as if you nailed the focus in the end despite the green background...

Gorgeous birds! I'd be interested to know what the original pics looked like before cropping if you'd be prepared to post one. Thanks Tim

Good compatible NB-10L batteries Can anyone particularly recommend a compatible battery for backup? Huge array on eBay. Real Canon ones seem to be at least £30. Thanks Tim

Many thanks for the tips. I've gone ahead and ordered from Kerso. It's a little more when delivery is added but he's provided great service in the past and the goods carry the normal Canon warranties as far as I'm aware. Looking forward to trying it out before my holiday.

Thanks Nick. I see Kerso does them for £299 including delivery http://www.flashcamera.co.uk/canon-powershot-sx50-hs-digital-camera/ which looks good too.

Current best buy for SX50? Anyone had a good price for one of these in the last week or two?
