Two things from my point of view, 1 i cant afford a D850 2 i never use any form of tracking so the D500 is perfect for me even though i dont know how well it tracks.
With a duck flying towards me with the D500 its past me with out me losing focus and that's at F9 with the Sigma 100-400 and 1.4 converter i use single point or 25 points.
A set from yesterday, i would need to have a lot of spare cash to buy the D850.
These where in the ISO 6400 area
Hi Mike,
That's quite impressive, would you mind sharing what AF tracking setting where you using? Are these cropped any?
Thanks
Kevin
The D850 is the first 35mm DSLR to score 100 overall on DXOMark https://www.dxomark.com/nikon-d850-sensor-review-first-dslr-hit-100-points/

Anybody updates ? I'm thinking of getting a D850 to go with my D500. I was going to get a D4s for the cleaner higher ISO when needed but thought I'll see how good the D850 is first

Are you a subscriber to the Lloyd Chambers blog? .... it would be interesting to hear what his "Editorial of the Nikon D850 vs Medium Format" has to say.
I'd still like to hear more on the D850's high fps AF performance too ..... :cat:

D850 UK price dropped below £2,500 this week, wonder why?
Nikon has 'sales events' from time to time - such as the "Fall" sales event where there are discounts on a wide range of gear https://www.nikonrumors.co/up-to-1600-off-nikon-instant-savings-to-be-expired-tomorrow/NR reports D850 due for replacement but they don't say when. Now that mobile phone cameras are so good, in low light and detail, hope Nikon goes for quality - low noise and dynamic range rather than just upping the megapixel count.
It would be based on the Sony sensors and looking at the three (D850, a7RIII, and a7RIV) they are all pretty much line ball for photographic dynamic range. The 60MP sensor then would offer better resolution.Suggestion that the update to the D850 will have 60MP, is this a good idea?
