I'm over 50 now, so consider myself entitled to be a little 'meldrew' about this.
It's not a juvenile, it's a sub adult, juvenile plumage doesn't show any red.

So, to be absolutely correct, it's a sub-adult Goldfinch, from Londonderry, Northern Ireland.
