Hi to everyone just new to bird watching. I am thinking of buying a telescope. After looking through a telescope the diference was remarkably can anyone sugest a cheap telescope for a beginner in the region of £100 or so. I live near Morecambe bay were there are lots of waders so a telescope would be great.

Hi there and a warm welcome to you :t:

You might want to take a gander at our Spotting Scope sub-forums here and see if you can find some suggestions. Enjoy!

Hello drummermajor,
And another welcome to the Birdforum. And you're right, a scope makes a tremendous difference in birding and is well worth having.

I am looking to buy a scope, but being new to this I need some help with the technical aspects. What exactly does 20-60x80 mean?
Many thanks in advance.
