I thought the first was a shield bug, but apparently not, both found in scrub/grassland around water-filled gravel pits.

Well my guesses, after various searches on the web, are:
1=Deraeocoris ruber - a capsid bug
2=Calocoris norvegicus - Potato Capsid

But any confirmation/disagreement welcomed.
