I have found this fungus on a twig in a woodland today. Nearby grew Alder, Birch and Oak. Any ideas please?

Many thanks, Gi

That is an Exidia species. There are several similar ones such as E. glandulosa, E. recisa etc. A Google should get you the id, or at least close. Note that the host tree can be important.

Thanks for that Leif. Had a look on google and seems close to E. recisa. I will go back and see if I can find it again to check the tree species.
