By no means a birding trip, but we did hire a car and have a look around, so I thought might help to report.

We stayed in Alcala on the west coast for 10 days, the weather was warm and sunny with some scattered cloud and a gentle breeze.

Around the hotel was a small flock of Spanish Sparrows, numerous Chiffchaff and Canary Chiffchaff (quite different songs), Canary, Little Egret and Grey Wagtail. From the beachfront, Yellow Legged and Lesser Black Backed Gulls, Turnstone, Wimbrel, Kestrel and Berthelot's Pipit.
About 10 minutes walk north along the seafront we found a deserted farm or garden gone to scrub, here we had, Spectacled and Sardinian Warbler, many more Canary and Chiffchaff, also a covey of around 10 Barbary Partridge.

Further afield in the car at Las Llajas there were plenty of Blue Chaffinch around the picnic table, African Blue Tit in the trees, and Raven over.
In the hills behind Los Gigantes a small party of around 4 Barbary Falcon soaring like small peregrines.
Erjos ponds had more Canary, Canary Chaffinch (very smart bird), Moorhen, Coot, Grey Heron, Muscovy, Blackbird and Linnet. Also 3 Kestrel mobbing a Buzzard as it drifted low across the hillside.
We spent half an hour at the Las Grimonas lay-by scanning for Pigeons by to no avail.

I would say Tenerife is not the easiest place to bird, seems to be very busy wherever you go, but the weather is good.
