Hello together,

is it possible to travel in Costa Rica with car and tent without booking place in advance ?
Is there any Camping place in national parks or nearby.
Is there any lodges for bird watching ( price Level until 100 Euro included meals ) ?
Is 4 x4 needed or recommended ?

Thank very much.

Best regards
Dieter

I do not know answer to the first part of your post. Re car, I had good use of a high clearance vehicle a couple of times, but very few places truly needed 4x4 -- unless you really go for the places off the beaten track.

trip

we went to guanacaste area sept last year although we went all inclusive we hired a car a daihatsu 4x4 which was fine, we stayed away twice once at cerro lodge and once at a hotel in la fortuna we booked in advance using trivago b&b at both for two nights which cost us around £35 per night for three of us.

Thank you very much for the help.

35 US$ for 3 persons, does it means, songle Person will pay 105 US$ ?

check booking sites and see what comes up, we were out of season, only folks there but it was around £35 per night for three of us. we all shared the same room.
