I have included picture of Common Eider. My question is about state of its wings.
Is this normal to be in such a rough shape ?
Other Eiders also had their wings in bad shape but not as bad as this one.

Btw. it's a treat to see Common Eiders in Long Island,NY in July !

That's very bad wear! But the new ones are just starting to come in, it'll be all-new & shiny in a few weeks, provided the feeding is good.
