Lesser Whitethroats (3 together Coney, 1 Porter's Mill)
Common Whitethroats, Blackcaps, Chiffchaffs, Reed Warblers, Grey wagtails, Ravens, Buzzards, Sparrowhawk, Swallows, House Martins, Kingfisher, Pied Wagtails, Mute Swans, Reed Buntings, Red-legged Partridges (plastic!), Pheasants, Linnets, lots of Goldfinches, Mistle Thrush.

Butterflies included several Common Blues and Speckled Woods. Silver Y moth seen a couple of times.

Glow Worm Summary 2015

Below is a summary of numbers and distribution of Glow Worms in Droitwich Community Woods this year:

This has certainly been the best year so far for this site with between 60 and 70 individuals noted. The best nightly count was 41 on 2nd August.

The distribution this year has been firmly weighted towards the allotments and rail track with relatively few noted around Gorsey Bank this year.

Also of interest is the following article that appeared in Worcester News recently:

http://www.worcesternews.co.uk/news...d_after_it__quot_killed_off_quot__glow_worms/

It seems the Malvern Hills Conservators caused a bit of an uproar with the locals when they cut the grass at an inappropriate time at a site in Guarlford - potentially affecting that population of Glow Worms - you would think they'd know better.
