Minox Warranty Goes All No Fault

As of today Minox has improved their warranty across the sports optics product line:

The warranty reads as follows:
"By registering your purchase you will gain the full benefits of our MINOX Lifetime Total Coverage Warranty. This extraordinary plan provides protection against manufactures defects, functional failures, or any accidental damages to the covered Product, including breakage, water damage or any accident.
Please make sure, that your MINOX sport optics binocular or spotting scope is registered online at www.minox.com/usa/warranty within 30 days from the date of purchase."

This take a great product line and makes it even better.
Just wanted to pass the word on.

That is good news and bad for me. As I posted in another thread, I dropped my Minox HG 8x43 MIG bins last week and they are currently with Minox in Germany to be repaired and serviced. I will feel slightly sick if I have missed out on this No Fault Warranty and am faced with a hefty bill. I am not sure if we will get the same warranty in the UK. Well done to Minox anyway for improving their after sales care.

That does sound like great news. And I would not worry about yours that you may have
just sent in. Just inform them that you will be quick to post here about how your repair is
handled.
I am thinking any Minox HG would be under warranty, as they are not that old. How does
the warranty on yours appear ?

Hi Jerry. My HG is an ex-demo and when it arrived it didn't include a warranty card. They were advertised as coming with the full manufacturer's warranty but I couldn't (and still cannot) find any details of what this comprises on the Minox website. As there was no apparent way of registering them on the manufacturer's site either, I emailed the vendor (Sherwoods) to enquire about how long the warranty is for and whether it was necessary to register them. The reply was: 30 years and just keep the receipt.

It would be very nice if Minox were to cover all or some of the repair cost but, to be honest, it is not their fault if I have have dropped the bins, so it would be a goodwill gesture. On their website the cost of repairs is shown as: eyecups from 35 euros, other repairs from 240 euros. I am therefore crossing my fingers and hoping that the repair will not be too costly.
